Bernie Hollywood OBE’s Boat of Hope to visit Foyle College
Foyle College is delighted to be involved with the Boat of Hope Campaign and invite the wider community to engage with this fundraising initiative for Samaritans charity within our city.
The focus of the campaign is young people’s mental health and the event will take place on the 1st of June 2022, to coincide with International Children’s Day. On this date, Bernie Hollywood OBE, who has raised £42million over 40 years for charities, and his incredible boat, featuring a mural from a Year 11 pupil from Foyle College, will spend the day in our city. Young people from across the city will have the opportunity to engage with the campaign and have been actively involved in cross-phase school competitions in the lead-up to next week’s visit.
To support the fundraising, Foyle College is inviting you to turn our city white! Whether a school, business or family, you can support this campaign by collecting £1 per person and encouraging the wearing of white items of clothing. All fundraisings will be collated together and presented as one collective donation from the city to our local Samaritans, who offer 24 hours support 365 days per year.
